"Welp, this is it! You just scored the big gig at Freddybear's Eatery and Fun, the Night watch position! Granted, it wasn't like there was much competition anyhow.
Freddy's has been surrounded by infamy for years, but that didn't deter you one bit. You loved this place as a kid, and this job felt like it was meant to be as soon as you saw it in the paper! The best part is, it's easy money, too! All you have to do is sit around for six hours watching video feeds for a crisp $250 after your first few nights.
Surely, nothing could go wrong... right?"
Graveyard Shift at Freddy's[1] is a Five Nights at Freddy's fan game, created by the developer avocadodreams[2] (formerly known as TheresNoSteak[3]). The demo was released on March 28th, 2024, with the full game releasing on September 9th, 2024.
The game uses a ransomware aesthetic, and features a darker, more unnerving look for the animatronics, as well as a few original characters. You play as a night guard named Sam Rodriguez who is tasked with the night watch at Freddybear's Eatery and Fun - a family restaurant with a dark secret, owned by Steve Raglan.
Despite initial positive reception, the game was removed from GameJolt by the developer following online controversy. According to avocadodreams, it is unlikely to be reuploaded.[4]
The game can be downloaded and played here via a reupload.

Mechanics
[]
The gameplay loop of Graveyard Shift at Freddy's is simple, only featuring two main mechanics, but can still be stress-inducing due to its monotone atmosphere, lack of total control or power, or secondary entrances which cannot be viewed by the player on their own terms. The player must diligently monitor the cameras and learn all three entrances to the Office to ensure one of the many antagonists don't enter the Management Office and sneak up, or potentially leap, upon the player. We are only provided two ways to counteract the animatronics, the Alarm system and the Window Shutter.
An important feature to note is the "HoneySoft Home Security" camera system. Unlike other Five Nights at Freddy's fan games, the player has no free rein over which camera they can view. Each camera in Graveyard Shift at Freddy's shuffles through a set sequence from camera ID. Since the player cannot choose which camera they can view, the player is left with only two options. The player can use the Alarm system, which is used against Bonnie, or utilize the Speed button to lower the time it takes to move through each camera. Additionally, the monitor in the game is connected to an outdated router, so if the player puts too much strain on the cameras by merely viewing them or by activating the Alarm, the feed will deteriorate until all features cannot be seen clearly. The only solution consists of the player unplugging and waiting before reactivating the router to maintain a fresh camera feed.
Grave Danger Mode
[]
Grave Danger Mode is a take on Scott Cawthon's scrapped Lives mechanic from the original FNAF. The player is provided three lives to keep across one save file. If all lives are used up, progress will be reset and players will go back to Shift 1. Grave Danger Mode can be activated in the main menu, by clicking on the "make your selections" button.
Characters
[]
Human Beings
[]
- Sam Rodriguez, the character you play as, being a journalist for the TDR news network, as well as the newest night guard at Freddybear's Eatery and Fun.
- Steve Raglan, the owner of Freddybear's. An odd, yet at first, seemingly friendly man, and the boss of Sam Rodriguez.
- Mike Schmidt, the demo's player/nightguard.
- The Unknown Second Owner, an offscreen character that helped Raglan create Freddybear's
"Animatronics"/Puppets
[]
- Freddybear Fazbear, a green bear, the main mascot, and the main antagonist of the game.
- Bonnie, a pink bunny, and the first enemy introduced.
- Chica, a yellow chicken. She's Cream's owner.
- Cream, Chica's cupcake, with a terrifying ability to crawl around on spindly spider-like legs that come out of its mouth.
- Wilfred Wolfgang, a wolf "animatronic" that dies attempting to escape the eatery before the events of the game, and Berry The Bat's predecessor.
- Berry The Bat, a blue bat that resides in her Bat Cave. She is the game's equivalent to Foxy And The Puppet
- Sheriff Slithers, a snake who becomes active on Shift 4. Periodically, he will appear on an active camera. The player must keep the camera on Slithers, or else he will jumpscare you. (Putting the camera down to regain charge in the camera timer does not aggravate him.)
- The Marionette/Puppet, a cut "animatronic" that would've resided at the eatery's prize corner.
- Ferguson Ferret, a cut ferret "animatronic"
Trivia
[]
- A minigame known as Ad-Vent-Uring (formerly Vent Venturing) was planned to appear in the game, with hidden assets being found in the game files. This mechanic has since been scrapped entirely and will not be included in the official release.
- Details on the minigame are scarce, but it appears that players would have to defend against Cream in the ventilation system while inputting codes into a panel. Failure would result in him killing you.
